If I can’t have Bacon. . . Zucchini Bacon(Plant Based Diet)

(Behind the scenes photo below)

Guys! i’m not gonna lie. It’s been difficult to eliminate bacon out of my diet. You know if you’re a bacon lover. you know  there’s nothing like it. The unique savory juices dripping out of each strip. Some strips are crunchy and some stay soft and. . . . I need to control myself. I unraveled all my notes and ideas on to my kitchen. trying to get the perfect or just close enough ingredients that would make this zucchini bacon taste close to the real thing. This recipe can be used with either zucchini’s or eggplant. All up to you.

DSC04262Another helpful tip. Also up to you. Baking the strips in the oven. 375 degrees for 20 minutes or until golden to your preference. I used my Mandoline purchased at Williams Sonoma. It is simple and a reasonable price.

Eat them alone or enjoy them in a sandwich or cut them up and make delicious tacos out of them. I’m sure that those tacos will taste amazing with my taco sauce. Any way you plan on eating these strips. I hope you enjoy them.

1 Zucchini

1 cup of Jack Daniels Original Liquid Smoke(Find it at Target)

1/2 tsp garlic
